Conclusion

Effective instruction in teaching moon phases, day and night, and seasons is time-consuming and vitally important in meeting the standards for student learning. Teachers must be accountable for their conceptual understandings and take part in teacher preparation programs to eliminate the alternative conceptions of science concepts. Use of three-dimensional models, virtual environments, inquiry instructions, should be used in the classroom to engage in active learning. More importantly, teachers should find the misconceptions early in the teachings, and target those misconceptions until students gain further knowledge without students having to make their own knowledge.
